A phenomenal night at the beautiful Mann Center, backed by Matt Rife and his own phenomenal band as well as the Philadelphia Orchestra. His voice wasn't in top form, and we sensed that maybe Matt wasn't feeling well. We were expecting the orchestra to be featured more. From our up close seats, he looked like he was chewing lozenges and coughing. It was a relatively short set, too, 90 minutes start to finish. The musicianship and arrangements he showed were awesome. Loved the Tom Waits cover of Temptation. However, he didn't seem very engaged in the performance. One encore, one song.
